How I Turned Bitcoin IRA into the Largest Crypto Retirement Product in the Space

When I joined Bitcoin IRA, the company had a compelling vision: enabling individuals to invest in Bitcoin through their retirement accounts. But it lacked the marketing engine needed to scale. I was initially brought on as a consultant to develop the go-to-market strategy, focusing on brand positioning, a website redesign, and building out a paid media foundation.

As traction grew, I transitioned in-house and took over all demand generation marketing efforts, leading the growth of our digital advertising program from the ground up. I scaled our monthly ad spend to over $880,000 across Google, Facebook, Quora, Reddit, Bing, and Yahoo, programmatic & native advertising, driving more than $22 million in investments by February 2017. This surge in demand led to the rapid expansion of our sales team to accommodate the surge in MQL’s.

I also launched and built the affiliate marketing department, partnering with financial influencers and crypto thought leaders to extend our reach. These campaigns brought in an additional $12.7 million in 2017 alone. Throughout, I continuously tested and optimized landing pages using heatmaps, click tracking, and A/B testing, ultimately improving lead conversion rates by 29%.

Through an aggressive digital advertising strategy, I leveraged multiple paid media channels, including Google Ads (Search & Display), Facebook Ads, Quora, Reddit, Retargeting, Bing, Quora, AdRoll, and Yahoo Gemini, to drive high-quality leads and significantly boost customer acquisition.

I created & led Google Ads efforts for Bitcoin IRA during its major growth cycle, running one of the most aggressive crypto retirement campaigns in the space. I targeted keywords like “Bitcoin IRA,” “crypto retirement,” and “rollover 401k to Bitcoin.” My campaigns integrated Search, Display, YouTube, and Gmail placements. I tied custom tracking to Salesforce, optimized ROAS at scale, and continuously refined negative keyword lists.
Between 2017 and 2018, I ran one of the first scaled Meta ad programs in the crypto retirement category. I built and tested dozens of campaign variants targeting users researching Bitcoin, IRA rollovers, and alternative investing. Creative emphasized tax-deferred crypto growth and featured animated explainer videos and testimonial-style content. I deployed CRM-integrated tracking and remarketing flows that pushed interested users into call scheduling with in-house advisors. This campaign laid the foundation for a scalable, always-on Meta strategy that fueled Bitcoin IRA’s breakout growth in the fintech space.
